High Park Surprise Proposal Photos

When Ian contacted me about creating his High Park surprise proposal photos I was so excited. I’ve captured a proposal just one time prior at this location and was looking forward to doing it again. Not to mention that this location is also sentimental to this couple. Multiple times a week they walk their dog, Maggie, there. So it wouldn’t be out of the ordinary for them to be at the picturesque Toronto spot. He planned to pop the big question on the lookout over the water. When he got down on one knee Zoe was completely surprised. I loved her reaction and how happy and loving they were throughout the whole shoot. I am so happy with the photos that we created together.

Zoe and Ian met during their engineering program at Queen’s University. They were young when they met so they’ve grown together and got to experience everything that comes along with that. Graduating university, moving to the city, buying their own home, and adopting Maggie. They now enjoy getting outside, checking out new restaurants, and working from home designing buildings together. Ian wanted to capture his proposal because it was one of the biggest things to come so far in their lives together. He wanted to be able to look back on it for years to come and have little flashes of nuance of the memories come back to him. It was such an honour to document his High Park proposal and meet his lovely ladies, Maggie and Zoe. 🙂 They are very easygoing and enjoy laughing together so I made sure to photograph this way as much as possible. We had so much fun joking around, running around, and laughing with each other. I really feel we created the natural and spontaneous photos Ian was looking for.
