Balzacs Coffee Wedding Distillery District
Capturing Alix & Chris’ laid back and intimate Balzacs Coffee wedding in the Distillery District was such a blast. I truly enjoyed every minute of it. I started the day at The Broadview Hotel Toronto where Alix was getting ready and where the couple would have their first look. The hotel is so trendy and well designed so it was awesome shooting in it. Their first look happened out front and it was a very cute moment with Alix running up to Chris exclaiming “Peanut!” with a big smile. The couple continued up to the rooftop for a relaxing time and some drinks with friends before they went to the ceremony.
Their wedding ceremony at Balzacs Coffee in the Distillery District consisted of their closed friends and family. Chris is from England so many of his family members and best friends made the journey. What was unique about their day was that they decided to keep their reception causal and social by scrapping the formal dinner tables. Instead, everyone stood together and chatted. Balzacs is such a great venue for this type of reception as it is cozy, vintage and one of a kind. Even though the ceremony was inside the large windows let in so much natural light!
Distillery district wedding photos are my favourite. I love the location so much. The red brick wall, green accents, old windows and lots of texture are a photographer’s dream. It may be a busy tourist destination but there are many quiet corners that we snuck away to for their portraits.
We also worried about the weather because it was calling for rain all day but thankfully it only stayed overcast. At the end of the day, the clouds lifted and gave way to a beautiful sunset with the CN Tower in the distance.
Thanks so much to A & C for trusting me to capture your lovely day. It was a pleasure to be a part of! 🙂
