Enoch Turner Schoolhouse Wedding Photos

Alex and Monika’s minimalistic, elegant Enoch Turner Schoolhouse wedding began with me arriving to capture their wedding party and family photos. It was a special photo session as Monika’s family members travelled from El Salvador to celebrate her. It had been a whooping ten years since she had seen some of them so it meant a lot to her. What is so great about this Toronto wedding venue is that the exterior of the building and the neighbouring church offer stunning backgrounds. You only have to walk a short distance to create variety in your wedding photography. I also love the natural look and feel of a couple simply walking together. This is exactly the candid, effortless look that they were looking for. During their consultation, they specifically used the words chill, relaxed and casual. It was also important for the couple to represent their cultures in their intimate marriage ceremony. Alex is Greek and Monika is El Salvadorian so they included breaking the bread, drinking from one cup and having crowns tied together. You can tell they enjoyed these traditions as they giggled the whole way through. They made their ceremony even more personal by having Alex’s best friend officiate. You could see that he was ecstatic and that everyone loved his performance. While their ceremony was amazing and full of huge smiles my favourite moment was when they exited into the classroom. They shared an intimate, quiet moment holding hands, grinning and hugging. It was so sweet and I love the photos that I captured at a distance at this time.

I love the Enoch Turner Schoolhouse wedding venue because of its minimal beauty. While I can appreciate gorgeous decorations and many flowers, the most important part of a wedding is the shared moments. When there isn’t a lot going on in the background the sole focus of the images are the couple and their loved ones. After their ceremony and wedding photos they enjoyed spending time with their guests during cocktail hour. As it was a beautiful summer day most people mingled outside to enjoy the breeze. There were quite a few sweet moments between the couple and their closest family and friends. Most specifically, Alex embracing his grandmother and being embraced by his former piano teacher. I love witnessing such connected moments and having my heart warmed by them. Last but not least, they made a grand entrance into their reception for the last section of the night. After hearing many emotional speeches from friends and family the couple made their own. They expressed their gratitude to everyone in attendance. Additionally, they shouted me out for my hard work which always makes me blush! What stood out to me was how close they were to they’re big friend group. You could feel them shower the couple with love once the formalities were over and the dance party began. It was amazing being a part of this wedding and sharing in all their happy moments. My favourite photographs are those that capture great emotional energy like joy, play, and excitement which dancing lends to well. I’d been to many an Enoch Turner Schoolhouse wedding but I love how every couple brings something unique to the versatile Toronto venue. I hope I’ll be lucky enough to photograph again soon at this minimalistic Toronto wedding venue. Thanks for stopping by and enjoy these Enoch Turner Schoolhouse wedding photos!
