La Petite Chapelle Wedding Photos

Alisha and Phil first met at a house party held by mutual friends near Kitchener. They got teamed up for a round of beer pong which they laughed all the way through for failing miserably. That broke the ice, so they chatted for the entire night. They clicked so quickly that they decided to spend the rest of the night and the following day together. Over breakfast and a long hike in Guelph, they got to know each other that much more. At the end of their extended date, they headed home. When in the car Alisha turned on a Taylor Swift album and quickly couldn’t believe her ears. Phil started belting out every word and not only that… He sounded amazing! What a catch! While she was really into that the defining moment was when she asked about his birth date. To her utter astonishment, they were born on the same day. They were born only a few hours apart. She was already falling for him, which made it feel like they were meant to be. In the eight years since they met, they have experienced many ups and downs. Their favourites are completing their degrees, buying their home, and of course… getting engaged! When I first met Alisha and Phil to talk about their La Petite Chapelle wedding I could tell right away they are an absolute blast to be around. Energy and fun radiate from them. When they hired me as their wedding photographer we met up at their house to create engagement photos with their adorable dog, Benji. After hanging out together I couldn’t wait to photograph their wedding and capture their joy.

I began their wedding day with Alisha getting ready in the venue’s bridal suite. Even though La Petite Chapelle is an old chapel the owners have added beautiful modern touches. As a photographer, I was so happy to see the large windows and minimalistic touches. Window light is crucial for stunning indoor wedding photos. After finishing up with Alisha I headed down the hall to capture Phil getting ready with his dad and brother. His father was reserved yet you could see so much pride in his eye. They saw each other for the first time at the chapel entrance and Phil’s reaction was adorable. Throughout the day, you could tell that Alisha was on the verge of happy tears. While the emotions may have been quieter in that moment the energy was undeniable. From there we had so much fun creating easygoing, playful and romantic couple photos before their marriage ceremony. La Petite Chapelle has the option for an indoor and outdoor ceremony. This couple chose to get married under the sunshine, string lights and evergreen trees. Alisha also had a first look with her dad in the morning in which he became emotional. That emotion emerged again when he was walking his daughter down the aisle. In true Phil fashion, he had to sing some of his wedding vows. He caught everyone off guard which filled the air with giggles. After providing some comedic relief Alisha began her vows. In a moment of emotion, Phil touched her arm with support. Even though their day was filled with joy and emotion throughout the whole day this one sticks out to me the most. La Petite Chapelle is a beautiful wedding venue and I can’t wait to celebrate another amazing couple there in the future!
