Sandy Lane Resort Wedding Photos

Emma and Mark are world travellers who currently call Sweden home. Even though they eloped there they wanted to come back to Canada to celebrate with friends and family. Seeing as the love exploring and nature they decide to book their wedding day at Sandy Lane Resort in Haliburton, Ontario. They loved the idea of getting married on the beach overlooking the beautiful Halls Lake. Not to mention that there was enough cozy cabins for their guests to spend the weekend. Camp weddings are my favourite and creating their Sandy Lane Resort wedding photos was a dream. The weather was perfect and the vibe was relaxed. It was so fun to be a part of so many great moments at their wedding. From the giggling with their wedding party, getting iced and Emma’s mom self-deprecating turned emotional speech that had everyone’s eyes tearing up. It was neat that many guests including Emma’s sisters had travelled far to be present. There were guests from the UK, the States, Sweden and much more.

I actually met Emma and her sisters when we were in elementary school. Our moms taught at the same school together. Funny enough, Emma and Mark are now teachers. We got to spend more time together and catch up during their engagement session at Town Brewery in our hometown of Whitby. They especially love trying out as many different beers they can get on their journeys. After their lovely ceremony, the newlyweds enjoyed playing lawn games and sipping beers with their loved ones. Escaping the bugs, the night ended with dancing in Sandy Lane’s reception hall. Emma and Mark are such a laid back, thoughtful and adventurous couple. I feel so lucky to have photographed their moments at their lakefront Haliburton wedding.
