Toronto Hunt Club Wedding Photos

The best compliment a Toronto wedding photographer can receive is being hired by someone who was part of a previous wedding they photographed. I spent a little time with Allison at her brother’s wedding to her now sister-in-law and best friend, Kristen at Parkwood Estate, Oshawa. I was struck by how beautiful, helpful and kind she was. I was so excited to hear from her a year later about photographing her Toronto Hunt Club wedding. She described what she wanted for her big day as “An elegant event with modern twists to the traditions.” During our consultation, she told me that they aren’t particularly affectionate, which can be quite challenging for wedding photographers. However, I find that the subtle and effortless photos of love are underrated. After all, it’s the little every day shows of love that make for a happy, lifelong marriage. Additionally, I don’t believe in forcing my clients into the typical, big romance box. At the end of the day, my job is to capture my couples authentically and make it an enjoyable process. Allison and Josh had only experienced one photo shoot before their wedding day. They were feeling a bit silly so the giggles oozed out which made for great photos. It doesn’t hurt that these two are naturally photogenic even though they don’t know it. I’m super happy with how their Toronto Hunt Club wedding photos turned out and they are too. They chose an incredible wedding venue which offered up so many stunning backdrops for wedding photography.

I began the day with Allison in the bridal suite with a balcony with an uninterrupted view of the lake. The morning was laid back and filled with laughs between the bride and her ladies. After her mom helped her into her stunning dress and veil I checked in on the boys. The men’s getting ready wasn’t going as smoothly as it rarely does surprisingly. Most guys don’t wear ties much anymore so most of them have to whip out Youtube for a refresher. Attention future brides and grooms! Make sure you or your partner is prepped for this before there’s a strict timeline involved. After these two were dressed to kill I went to the ceremony spot to document the arriving guests. I was obsessed with the simple decor and especially loved how the white carnations looked like they were growing from the ground. After their sweet ceremony which was filled with laughter and intimate personal vows, it was time for photography. It was a blast getting laughs out of their family members and wedding party during this time. The Toronto Hunt Club is a venue made for smaller weddings. I really enjoy weddings under 175 guests as everyone is close to the action. Allison’s dad made the most touching speech of the night which moved his daughter to tears. My favourite photo from the whole day is the group hug between the couple and Alli’s parents. You can feel the love and joy just by looking at it. There were so many amazing moments throughout this day. However, my top two favourite things were how close they were to their families and the beauty of their outdoor ceremony overlooking the lake. I hope that I will be lucky enough to photograph another Toronto Hunt Club wedding very soon!
