When Jamil contacted me about capturing his Muskoka cottage proposal photos we jumped on a call and clicked right away. I mentioned that I love to build a story into shoots and we both got excited about the ideas we were bouncing back and forth. He told me that Natasha is very sentimental and would treasure photos of such an important moment. He also mentioned “I’d love to propose just before sunset. Afterwards, we can cozy up by the fire pit, listen to music and enjoy some champagne.” I was so in love and excited about what we had planned. I approached their shoot after their proposal documenting two people deeply in love enjoying the beauty and romance of sunset at the cottage. These two were so amazing and I think it’s safe to say we were all extremely happy with what we created together.

So what’s the story with these two? How did their paths cross? Well, Jamil met Natasha at university and decided to join the dance class she was teaching as a way to get to know her better. After spending time and getting to know each other they began dating. It was soon after that that Jamil knew that she was the one. He said “There was never a doubt in my mind.” After they finished school they spent some time long distance on opposite sides of the continent. They eventually moved back to Toronto and bought a house together. The two love morning coffee walks, enjoying nature, road trips and sipping wine together. They are going to take their time planning their wedding and first focus on making their new house a home.
