Kawartha Lakes Engagement Photographers
I was so excited to meet up with Emaleigh and Michael as their Kawartha Lakes engagement photographer at their riverside session. I absolutely love getting out into nature for shoots because it inspires me greatly. While living in the Durham Region does afford me many beautiful locations, especially along the lake, it’s not the same. I really love when there are rocky outcroppings, lulling rivers, and massive trees surrounding you. The GTA is a lot tamer and manicured in my opinion. I was so happy when this couple said that they were willing to drive almost 2 hours out to the location. Really going for it or investing in your session is so worth it! We all had such a blast hanging on the warm rocks and playing in the water. I don’t know what it is about water but I find it so magical and can add so much extra beauty to photography.

Emaleigh and Michael met at a costume party that was set up as their blind date by their best friends. Everyone was assigned a costume that matched one other person at the party. Of course, it was arranged that Emaleigh and Michael would match. When they both showed up wearing nurse’s scrubs they started getting to know each other. The two of them had such an instant connection that they actually became a couple that very day. It’s been 5.5 years since they’ve become completely inseparable. Sadly, Michael had originally planned to propose in the Swiss Alps. However, this shoot took place in the summer of 2020 so you know why that couldn’t happen. Nonetheless, the couple was super happy and tearful when they became engaged. After all, as with weddings and everything else, it’s about loved filled moment shared between people. Not mere aesthetics.
