Hey! I’m Chelsey. I’m a Durham Region maternity photographers. I specialize in slightly directed photography which means we won’t be doing anything super traditional or strictly posed. What we’ll aim to capture are natural images filled with genuine emotions of you with your baby bump and your partner if they would like to tag along. So no looking into the camera and saying “Cheese!” I give direction using prompts to create authentic actions, reactions, movement, and emotion. Sometimes I’ll get you talking about a certain thing, get you moving, or into a “pose”. They are meant to gently encourage connecting, laughter, and tender moments. The secret to turning a good photo into a great photo is movement! Even slight bouncing and swaying can add so much life and energy to photos. When we meet up for your shoot we’ll get to know each other so we can both shake off our nerves. (Yes, I am still nervous before every shoot.) I take the capturing of your life milestones seriously. After that, I’ll turn on the jams and start playing!

PS Looking “perfect” isn’t what we’re aiming for. You are amazing as you are. What’s important is that our collaboration truly captures the essence of you during pregnancy and your unique personality.

It will take me approximately two – three weeks to edit your Durham Region maternity photos. However, I know you’ll be excited to see them so I’ll send a few sneak peeks within a few days!
