Distillery District Surprise Proposal Photos

I was so excited to hear from Jonathan about his planned proposal to his girlfriend, Ania. J and I discussed his Distillery District surprise proposal photos plan, got everything in place and a few nights later it was go time. I showed up early to Pure Spirits Oyster Bar on a winter night to check out the space. I took my test shots so that I would be ready to go when the time came. This is the most nerve-racking proposal I have ever been a part of. Seated at the bar I was directly across from the couple. Of course, when you’re sitting at the bar you’re turning away from the rest of the restaurant. To be stealthy I set up my phone against the bar so I could just slightly see the couple in its reflection.

Creepy? I know but I did not want to risk missing the moment. Jon told me that he would be popping the question after they finished dinner and a proposal dessert would be coming out right after. The waitress came took away their plates and I saw J stand up. I whipped around on my barstool and began shooting. I then heard a restaurant patron say “What’s happening?” followed by a collective “Awwww!”. Ania said yes, gave him a big kiss and then he raised his fist in the air and exclaimed: “She said yes!” The friendly strangers cheered and congratulated them loudly. After the newly engaged couple shared their unique dessert we headed out into the cold. We created fresh night distillery district engagement photos. As much as this proposal got my heart pounding I loved being a part of such an important moment for these two.
