Algonquin Park Wedding Venues

Algonquin Park is known far and wide in Ontario and the whole world as a massive and beautiful chunk of wilderness just 3 hours northeast of Toronto. Algonquin is a camper and nature lovers paradise with so much to offer in terms of hiking, backpacking, portaging, wildlife watching, and more. When I think of possible wedding venue ideas for the non-traditional and adventurous brides and grooms what could be more amazing than getting married in Algonquin Park? I have put together a list of Algonquin Park wedding venues to help you out in your search for the perfect location.

Arowhon Pines, inside Algonquin Park

Built in 1938 this rustic cottage offers a roughing it feel with all the niceties of being back in the city. You are surrounded by towering pines and a calm blue lake. Arowhon Pines is a small resort that is actually nestled inside Algonquin Park. This is an amazing venue for the couple looking into getting married at Algonquin Park. You can choose to just go there and have your ceremony or reserve the whole property for you and your closest family and friends. Cottages are so close to the water that the porches literally hover over the pristine water. This venue seems to me like the perfect one for the outdoor-loving couple who want the beautiful wilderness of Canada to be a part of their intimate wedding ceremony. On top of that, you could stay for the rest of the week and explore all the trails and lakes that Algonquin has to offer.

Voyageur Quest, 8 km outside the north-west corner

Voyageur Quest has three separate properties for you to choose from. They have their Log Cabin, Cottages and Island Retreat. The Log Cabin is located on Surprise Lake just 8 km from the north-west corner of Algonquin Park. Algonquin Log Cabin sleeps 12 and their Pinecroft Cabin can sleep 6. The Log Cabin is recommended for people looking for active days of hiking and canoeing but also a cozy abode to return to at night. Canoes and home cooked meals are included in most of the packages at the Log Cabin. The Algonquin Cottage Outpost is on Kawawaymog (Round) Lake at the same outer corner of Algonquin Park. The cottage is open all year round for the couples looking for a fall or even winter wedding venue. Voyageur Quest states that the cottage is “ideal for anyone looking for a combination of adventure and comfortable accommodation.” Lastly the stunning, Island Retreat a cottage placed on a small island in the middle for a huge lake. How can you get any more remote and wilderness than that? The Round Lake Island Resort has quite a history as it was an Algonquin Park ranger’s cabin during the time Thom Thomson was a ranger there. He was friends with the ranger, Wattie, and frequently visited his quaint cottage, even painting it and the lake. This island cabin is truly a beautiful Algonquin wedding venue for the couple looking for an intimate location for their ceremony, absolutely surrounded by stunning wilderness.

I hoped this has helped you in your search for the perfect Algonquin Park wedding venues! Want to find out about more wilderness wedding venues? See Kawartha wedding venues on the blog.
