Summerlea Golf Club Wedding

When I first photographed Lauren and Peter it was at Ganaraska Forest for their winter engagement photos. To start off the session I got the couple to sit on a bench near a fire pit. At least that’s what I was hoping for. Lauren missed the bench and landed hard on the slippery ice below. “Well, I guess we’ve officially broken the ice!” she exclaimed. We laughed together and created lovely engagement photos. This was my first taste of how hilarious and easy going this couple truly was. Because of this, I was excited to be a part of this awesome couple’s Summerlea Golf Club wedding in Port Perry.

The Big Day

I had never photographed at Summerlea Golf Club before and was looking forward to visiting and photographing there for the first time. I started my day with the boys in the morning who were relaxed and chatting over beers. Next, I moved on to photograph Lauren getting ready at the couple’s stunning Oshawa home. Lauren and Peter decided to have a first look so we could have as much time after their marriage ceremony for their bride and groom photos. It was a cute moment they shared together which also put them at ease before tieing the knot. Their ceremony was emotional and of course, light-hearted. They joked about the things they did together and promised to love each other through all the silliness in their marriage vows. And like a girl after my own heart, Lauren had to mention their French Bulldog, Oreo in her vows. I always feel so honored to witness and capture such beautiful and personal moments. After completing all our photos everyone moved to the big white tent to use holla hoops to get the newlyweds to kiss and dance the night away.
