Trillium Trails Wedding Photos
I first met Chelsey and Brennan at their engagement shoot with their dog, Ghost, at Darlington Provincial Park. At that time they hadn’t started planning their wedding so they hadn’t hired a wedding photographer. We had a great time hanging out and documenting their relationship. Chelsey is a huge fan of autumn so you bet that’s the time of year we did it. I thought the images we made together were awesome so I was hopeful I’d hear from them about their wedding. A few months later I was so happy to see that they had emailed me with the request. Like I said, Chelsey is obsessed with the fall so she was planning a beautiful Trillium Trails wedding with the trees at peak colour. If you can believe it this couple are high school sweethearts meaning they have been together for over a decade. They hit it off during class and within weeks they were on their first date at the movie theatre. After settling into their first home and new careers Brennan knew it was time to pop the question. They are such dog people so he knew he had to involve Ghost somehow. Every night after work they go on the same walk through a conservation area so he knew she would be surprised. He attached a dog tag to Ghost’s collar which said “Will you marry me?” Chelsey was rushing to finish her work and get out the door so she didn’t notice the tag until halfway through the walk. When Brennan noticed her noticing it he quickly got down on one knee. He was so nervous and emotional that he hardly got a single word out. In the end, it wasn’t necessary. They knew exactly how they felt about each other so Chelsey screamed “Yes!” The serious moment quickly turned hilarious when their neighbour came strolling up the trail and without picking up what was going on launched into small talk. They spent the rest of their hike laughing, cuddling and kissing all the way home. The next milestone of their relationship would be to plan their Trillium Trails wedding!

Unfortunately, the morning of their wedding day was rainy so they pivoted and set up the ceremony indoors. I was surprised with how amazing it looked inside the Trillium Trails reception space. Chelsey thought of everything and had tons of stunning autumn-themed decor to fill the venue. Their ceremony was so touching to witness. Brennan became very emotional watching her walk down the aisle. They also thoughtfully and carefully created their amazing vows. Their parents beamed with pride through teary eyes as they watched their little ones grow up just that little bit more. Thankfully, the rain cleared up just in time to capture their wedding party, family and couple photos outside. After all, Chelsey chose a fall wedding to get those gorgeous colours in the photos! It was effortless to document this bride and groom’s love and connection. You can see their fondness radiate towards each other with just a glance. After creating their wedding photography we got them back inside to enjoy the rest of their Trillium Trails wedding. My favourite moment of the night was when Brennen was “screeched in” Newfoundland style. They made him sing and kiss a fish! It was awesome entertainment for the guests and many were howling with laughter. I’m grateful for the great time and the opportunity to be part of such a special day.
