Durham Region Engagement Photos

I had been really looking forward to Amy and Chris’ Durham Region engagement photos session. Amy and Chris contacted me to set up a consultation shortly after getting engaged. They had so many nice things to say in the email and I was looking forward to chatting with them more about their wedding day. When the day came the consultation went great. I clicked with them, loved their personalities and Amy had so many nice things to say. I was caught off guard when they declined my services. While she was totally in love with my work it just wasn’t something they could fit into their budget. I was pretty bummed because I considered them the type of couple that I could work my best magic with. However, I understand. Wedding planning is difficult and expensive. Not to mention as a young person in this day in age.

A few weeks later an email from Chris popped into my inbox. I wondered what it may contain as I clicked on it. To my delight, the couple had changed their mind. They weren’t able to completely let go of their love for my work and their desire for me to be their wedding photographer. I was really touched that they would be cutting back in other areas of their budget so that they could have me. Even though I’m not married I can understand that putting together a wedding is really tough. Especially when you’ve just purchased your first home and have a giant growing puppy to feed. Amy and Chris, I’m so glad you made the decision that you did. I am so in love with the images that we created together. I knew that you two would be some of my best collaborators. This is why I work so hard to constantly improve and take my task seriously. My clients trust me with capturing the present so they can remember it in the future. I think I owe it to them to work as hard as they do to put together a beautiful wedding. It’s also super important to hire a photographer you really love. Amy + Chris knew that the only real thing they are left with after their wedding would be the memories in their mind’s eye and the images that helped them stay alive.

Thanks so much, A + C. So excited am I for the next part of our journey together. Your wedding day at Kortright Centre for Conservation this fall!
