Rosetta McClain Gardens Proposal

When Eric reached out to me about capturing his Toronto surprise proposal he needed location recommendations. This is a request I receive from almost all of my proposal clients. Thankfully, I’ve been around the block and I pour over Google Maps every once in a while to find new locations. When he told me he was looking for a nice park with gardens in Scarborough I was excited to suggest a location I thought had tons of potential. I believed a Rosetta McClain Gardens proposal would be stunning and he agreed. I was excited to capture another sweet surprise proposal and discover a new beautiful place. Visiting all the picturesque areas around the Greater Toronto Area is a great perk of the job. Eric specifically wanted to propose on a bench so I considered all the options when I arrived. One was perfectly positioned with the glowing setting sun in the background. I texted him to confirm the exact spot and sent a map pin. Unfortunately, a couple was sitting on the bench but when I told them a proposal was about to happen they happily moved on. Of course, I took over that bench until I knew Eric and Charlene were walking up. Eric wanted a bench specifically because he made a custom wordle riddle that would spell “Marry me”. He wanted the moment to feel ordinary not to raise suspicion. It was a thoughtful and sentimental addition as the couple played Wordle together every day. Like many women, Charlene had a gut feeling her boyfriend was up to something. It’s hard to completely hide your nerves when you’re about to propose after all! Even though some ladies know what is about to happen it doesn’t change the excitement they feel when their partner gets down on one knee.

After she solved the puzzle Eric got down on one knee and Charlene’s face lit up. After he said a few cute lines she said “Yes!” After kissing and embracing for a few moments I was introduced. This couple was so fun and easy to work with as their post-proposal emotions were so high. The gardens looked amazing under the late spring sunshine which elevated their Rosetta McClain Gardens proposal photos. When I entered on the main path I was wowed by the mass planting of colourful tulips. I knew we would need to incorporate them somehow. Eric wanted a colourful, blooming garden for his session after all. My goal with this shoot was to make the photos look as candid and natural as possible. I wanted to show a happy-in-love couple enjoying quality time together in their local park. I’m really happy with the photos we created and had such a good time hanging out with them. Now that I’ve experienced a photoshoot at this spot I will be recommending it to future clients planning to propose near Scarborough. Especially those planning to propose in spring or summer surrounded by nature’s vibrant beauty. Two years ago these two matched online and after a couple of weeks of messaging back and forth, they decided to meet up. Eric met Charlene on their first date at a trendy local coffee shop. They were both nervous but quickly became comfortable after talking about their love of dogs. A week later they set up their second date at the zoo. Ever since then, they have been inseparable. They’re so excited to start planning their intimate Toronto wedding in the future. Thanks so much for bringing me along for the sweet ride that was your Rosetta McClain Gardens proposal, Eric!
